
The Swedish news program Aktuellt on Sept 28, 1994, at 18:00 o'clock: "The Captain of ESTONIA has survived and is being treated in the hospital in Finland."
According to the documents released to Sven Aner, the Swedish investigative journalist, all together 17 rescued Estonians were sent home to Estonia from Swedish hospitals on Sept 29, 1994, without having been allowed to see their consular representatives in Stockholm. This is in violation with Vienna Convention. The identities of those people have never been made public by Swedish authorities.
There are at least 13 missing survivors whose names were registered in 18 different lists of survivors. They all disappeared while in Swedish custody. They may have been subject to "enforced disappearance".
All 13 were Estonian members of the crew:

- Veide, Hannely - 700324 - Dancer
- Veide, Hanka-Hannika - 700324 - Dancer
