The International Symposium on the Sinking of Estonia, September 27, 2005

The Estonia symposium, being held from 10:00 to 17:00 at the National Library in Tallinn on 27 September 2005, will be a public presentation by international maritime experts and researchers who will speak about their research into the causes and circumstances of the sinking.

This historic event, the first of its kind in Estonia, is being arranged by Helje Kaskel, chairman of the Estonia Litigation Association, and families of the victims.  As a volunteer effort for the benefit of the public, the symposium is seeking private and corporate sponsors to help support the event. Funds raised will be used strictly for the expenses of the symposium and not for litigation purposes which is an entirely separate matter.

The primary costs of putting on the symposium are:  use of the conference room, simultaneous translation, printing of the symposium literature, technical equipment, mailing and communications.  Funds are needed to cover these costs.

Among the invited speakers presenting the latest research and analysis are:

And many others

Donations of any size are greatly appreciated and will be duly noted in the symposium literature if desired.  Private, anonymous, and in kind contributions are also welcome.
